Early Spring Sky Photo

The early spring sky enchants me as I watch it break through the remaining dark clouds that still can bear snow. Each day the sky becomes bluer, the clouds lighter and fluffier because they have dropped their weight and want to float around instead of lumber by.

The air has filled with bird music...I love the robin's song best... and migrating birds have begun returning. Yesterday Jeff and I saw a Great Blue Heron sitting on a tree limb, his silhouette dark in the setting sun. When he flew from the tree, his head and long neck dipped down, and then he soared to the creek where he can find his favorite tasty frogs and begin his stay on our land.

Jeff and I love communing with nature, watching every change that happens, listening to our world waking up around us. Breathing it all in, knowing the future holds promise.

Have a super day!!! May your tomorrows bring you the dreams you have not yet realized.

Hugs, JJ

What a beautiful post. You took me right there! I love seeing GB Herons in the treetops. It's so unexpected to see such large birds in the trees. I love this time of year, too.

Thank you, Sandpiper. :D A glorious new morning to you. :D It is unexpected to spot Great Blue Herons sitting in a tree. And wild turkeys look odd sitting up there too. :D Usually there are several wild turkeys and it looks ominous because they are so dark in coloring.

I must come for a vist!

Reading your blog makes me realize how much I miss being out in Nature on a regular basis. I make a lot of excuses about it (I live in the city, I work full-time, I have lots of obligations on the weekends), but the bottom line is that I need to make the time...

Oh, and don't forget to email me or leave a comment & let me know what you'd like for your prize!

Jen, please do make the time. I just found renewal outside. It was heavenly. :D

I'm glad you are enjoying my blog.

Hi JJ and Jeff! Kudos to your common interest in nature watch.
We seem to be in sync yet again. My latest posts on Aham and Tirumandiram have pictures of various strata and poses of the sky of different ends of the world - one the US and the other India. (I have posted a link to the newspaper article I mentioned beneath my post as The Himalayas.)

Nature Nut /JJ Loch said...

Swahilya, we are in sync with cloud photos. :D How wonderful. I'll head right over.

JJ you said: 'I love the robin's song best' - I almost forgot how nice they sound. Yes we have them back here too and the sounds are so refreshing. Mind you we got some red wing black birds that make this screaming noise, but hey that is their mating season, so I accept. Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo with us. Anna :)

Nature Nut /JJ Loch said...

You're welcome, Anna. Those black birds do make a ruckus. :D

Soon we'll hear tons of baby crows begging for food. I like crows because they guard the territory around them. I don't have to worry so much about the cats being swooped up.

Bluejays watch the forest too and will call out if a critter takes a step.

Hugs, JJ

Spring is a great season and I'm glad it has eventually reached you. There is a definite chill in the air over here in the mornings but the days are still warm and generally sunny. We're not letting you have the good weather just yet.

It's nature at its best. Looking at the sky to wild away the time. Daybreak to dusk, if only there isn't a thing call internet :)

Thank you, Fred. :D

Suzanne, I can tell it's tug and pull. I am thinking of changing over from a heavy winter jacket to a vest. Arm freedom!!! WOOT!!!

LZ, thank you. I love sky photos also, especially when there are different colors to delight us.

Fruit Species, I can catch a corner of the sky out of my peripheral vision when I'm on the computer. LOL

Wow JJ, what a nice picture and even more beautiful words that accompany it. You are very talented in your writing - when I was reading it, one gets this feeling of romance and tranquility.
Thank you.

Very nice! We're spoiled down here in the south, of course--all of our trees are in leaf & all of the azalea bushes bloomed last month. The leafless trees in your photo still make me feel too cold! You're getting there, though. :)

you and Jeff are indeed true participants -- lover of nature!

Beautiful post and picture. It must be nice to see all of the seasons. I've always lived on the coast, so we basically see on season - summer. The Queen likes to watch the birds, and she is quite an expert. As I told Anna, from our up stair's bathroom she can see the birds making their nests in the eave below the lower edge of the roof. She follows the progress of the newly hatched until they fly away.

Have a nice day, and take some more great pictures.

thts such an awesome pic...n the sky looks amazing...btw were u able to see the video??if not i can mail it across to u

Evita, thank you for the lovely compliments on my cloud photo and post. :D I love both photography and writing.

Lana, I hope to see lots of green on your blog. I have starved eyes. Thanks.:D

Merging Point, thank you. The connection one makes with nature does fill the soul with contentment. It has helped me talk with God at a more personal level. Jesus said, "Peace be unto you." I know what that means. I have a quiet soul.

Swubird, isn't it great watching a bird nest come alive with baby birds!!! Phoebes always nest on the protruding higher logs of the workshop and Jeff keeps an eye of the baby birds from there.

Maverick, I have slow dial up that keeps me from seeing videos but let me try again.
Thanks for enjoying the photo. :D

Happy Weekend, Dear Readers!!!

JJ love your sky shots, Love Robins singing too. The Great Blue Heron would be cool to get a pic of. JJ Get a pic of a turkey sitting in a tree if you can, never thought of them in trees, lol.

Nature Nut /JJ Loch said...

Bob, Jeff says you don't want to walk under the turkeys. LOL I hope I have my new camera by the time I see the turkeys roosting on branches. Usually I see it in the morning. Look up!!!

Glad you enjoyed the sky photo. :D

I am in awe of the kayak builer! I knew both you and Jeff were talented , but wow!!!!

JJ, as you know I was once a commercial photographer and I am so very impressed by what you do, especially with a digital camera. Maybe one day my pix will be as good as yours.

Please keep updates here about the kayak. it is indeed a project that is inspiring in many ways.

Fred, I will keep you up to date on Jeff's kayak project. Can't WAIT until I have captured him with my digital in the craft, paddling along the shoreline of Lake Huron.

I have suggested that he pull me along on a pool lounge but I don't think he's taken to that idea yet. He will. :D

I'm happy you're enjoying the photos. :D
