Beautiful autumn has painted the Michigan deciduous trees and is coming into full swing. This week will be excellent for photos for any of those traveling in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. The photo on the left was snapped a couple of weeks ago as Jeff and paddled me around in the kayak on the Tahquamenon River. That was a peaceful stay at the campgrounds and where we met the Pringle eating chipmunk I featured in a previous post. Of course the car horn and flasher post happened there too but photos like this erase that from my mind. LOL
Idyllic. The memory lingers in my mind of the still waters below the roaring falls. Of a bald eagle soaring in the sky and the autumn tinged trees that were vibrant against the forest green coniferous foliage.
Blessed. I am blessed to have a husband who enjoys the same nature settings I do and who sees each outing as a kid's adventure as I do with exploration, sunning ourselves, musing about what we have yet to experience outside. Living life and loving it.
Happy. I am thrilled to be at this time of my life. Many autumn leaved photos await my camera and the rich earth scent will renew my soul. I have finished my photography class and have come away with knowledge that will give me even more enjoyment of my camera. Jeff was so caring the whole time I took the class. He drove me wherever I needed to be, helped with the camera equipment and didn't laugh too much when I snapped tons of photos of the same subject. :D
Have a super day, dear friends.
Hugs, JJ

This photo was so peaceful and pretty! I am like you - so glad I have a husband to enjoy the outdoors with!
Very nice phote, it makes me miss Michigan. It is definitely nice to have husbands that love the outdoors for sure.
I was wanting your help with something. It is in my latest post and I wanted you to pick 1 or 2 for me, if you would, or want to after you read. lol
Don't worry it is not a tag, but I am asking my readers to put their 2 cents in. :)
JJ:
What a beautiful area. Just breath-taking. And, of course, your picture taking is excellent.
Do you remember what photography was like before digital cameras and computers came out? Imagine the hundreds of bad pictures we all threw away - money tight down the drain. But today, I can step out into my back yard, take a few shots, and if I don't like them - no big deal. I just push one button and they're gone! It doesn't cost me a dime. Wow! The promise of miraculous things in the 21st Century has come true.
Happy trails.
You have become so proficient with your photography. The classes have brought out your inate talents for compostion and color. That is hard to teach - it comes from the soul.
Beautiful photo and I look forward to more fall scenes.
Swubird, this is a GREAT area. :D Thanks for noticing I have been working hard on my photography skills.
I do remember regular film because I have shaky hands and bought many photos that weren't any good. Money down the drain all right. We live in a marvelous age.
Thank you! :D
Suzanne, I am awakening as a photographer and definitely in my element. I had no idea last year that this would be my avenue. Life brings pleasant surprises. :D
Thank you! I'll snap plenty of autumn scenes this weekend. :D

wblmom, Michigan ROCKS this time of year. You'll hear me change my tune around Feb when the world turns from snow to ice. LOL
I did visit your blog.
Shellmo, thank you, sweetie. We are both blessed. :D I love your photos and know you share great times with your hubby. :D

Ish JJ, I have good news and not so good news. Do you have any other picks to be funded on my page???
The two you chose had been completely funded in the last few hours before they even made it on my page, yeah that's the good news. lol
I just wanted to know because we are getting ready to create my page which only takes 30 minutes, but we will start in a couple of hours.
Thanks so much!!
Hi JJ, I just wanted to let you know the page is up and running. I hate using your post for this, but I didn't see an e-mail for you. :)
Thanks again for everything and all your help choosing!!
Still a beautiful picture!!! lol
Wbl, that's fine that you posted here. I'll hop on over today and check out your new post. :D

Both the picture and the musings are wonderful. Love every stop I've ever made past your blog. :)

And it makes me feel blessed to read super stories of nature through you. Come to think of it, it is just so recent I feel that I was discussing with you on how the winter was and so fast another winter is soon approaching! Nature seems to be changing superfast!
Swahilya, thank you, dear. :D You are right. The spring and summer rushed right by and the weatherman has already mentioned the "s" word. Shudder. :D

I do miss the leaf peak in Ontario in mid-Oct. (my birthday, go figure.) I guess I can deal with the virtually eternal green down here in Louisiana, though. Still better than snow ANY day!
Very nice pictures JJ.. and I am so glad you have such a lovely husband and you are very lucky.
Lana, you've got THAT right. It feels like a perpetual white out all winter long unless a beautiful tree cloaking storm moves through.
Angel, hi Sweetie. I'm hopping over to your blog to see how the momma to be is. :D
I have such great friends here dear readers. Please click on all of their links.
Hugs, JJ
That's very thoughtful of him!Have a lovely autumn you two love birds :)

Thank you, Sameera. :D I can't wait for our next adventure!!!

Your passionate love of Nature really shines through in this post. Your photography is beautiful. It reminded me of all the times I took my canoe out on calm clear water in Northern Maine and watched the reflection ripple as the canoe sliced through them. I am so glad you appreciate the beauty around you. For me Nature is like another self. I know you understand.
Nature is a big part of our souls, Robin. God has truly blessed the both of us. :D I bet you miss Maine. I hope you can visit there again.:D
Thank you. I have photos coming out in a book next summer. :D

Beautiful image JJ, we mostly get brown and green here for autumn colors, great you guys have so much in common.\m/\m/
This is beautiful. I don't have anyone to share my outings with...partly by choice. I like that quiet time alone taking as long as I like to just enjoy God's creations. :-)
Hi JJ
Mike and I are wondering if you received the recent emails from The Society of Midnight Wanderers (now called MW Society Press). We haven't heard back from you since our restart. We also have updated the MW Badge. You can grab the newer version from our site.
Could you please email me at mwsmagazine@gmail.com and confirm whether you plan to submit something in the future or not? We are in the process of redoing our membership list and I really hope you decide to stay on and be part of our organization.
So please, check out our revamped site at
http://mwsociety.wordpress.com
We would appreciate it if you would get back to us.
Thanks a million my friend.
JD, I will contact you right away and YES! I will submit something. I have received one email from your great new site. Will grab the new badge and start thinking of a story. :D
Hugs, JJ
2sweetnsaxy, there is must to be appreciated when you spend time alone in nature. That's when you can hear God's voice the best. :D I have spent many hours like that myself.
Hugs, JJ
Wow what can I say JJ, this is beautiful. And I am blessed to with husband who enjoys the same things I do enjoy, and Matthew starts to enjoy nature too, he knows where we are going 'outside', lol. Anna :)
Bob, we have a lot of birch and maple trees and that makes for splendid autumn colors. :D
Anna, I have no doubt Matthew will be a pro nature photographer soon. :D I can see you buying him his first digital in a year or two. :D
Thank you, dear.
Hugs, JJ
