Autumn's last hurrah clings to the trees with darkened, mournful leaves letting go and sailing to the ground to meet those who have gone before them. The earth crunches and thanks the leaves for their nourishment. But the most spectacular event now happens in the sky with the changing clouds. I've had my camera pointed upward for days. The glorious blue will soon turn to mostly gray skies so I must capture these eye-catching photos while I can. This photo shows a rain cloud breaking up right after sunrise. The show lasted for hours. It was as if I were seeing God's hand directly because the majestic view touched my soul in an inspirational way. I know God is there watching over us and I know how much He loves us.
We are blessed to know Him. :D

Lovely shot. What an interesting sky! Keep up the good work. :)
I'm not sure if I know him... perhaps we're not in touch much. Or maybe our relationship is unconventional. I guess I'm a believer but in my own way.
Thanks, Lana. That was a magnificent day. LD
Bitter chocolate, we all seek God in a way we can identify with. It's a beautiful process. He's a great friend. :D When I grew up I more heard about the fire and brimstone version of God and that made me quake. But all that time he was saying God is Love and wanting to be my friend. Once that was understood, the deeper relationship developed. :D
You have a beautiful soul!!!

Wow, and Wow JJ awesome image of a beautiful cloudscape, is there a Moon in there somewhere?,lol.
Thank you, Bob, and I just sent in my afternoon moon entry. :D WOOT!!! You know what cloud conditions I have been having. LOL The moon wasn't even playing peekaboo until today when I finally saw it in the daytime.

Your clouds look like fluffy cotton balls that i want to take down from the sky! Lovely!
JJ this is such a beautiful photo of the sky, wow you are good! Anna :)
Great photo. Those clouds almost look like aliens landing.
Very very nice shot JJ. This is what I like. Your unique eye. Well done.
Shellmo, thank you. :D That was one special sky day. I loved those hours when the sky kept changing from one dramatic scene to another.
Anna, thanks hon. I keep at it. :D
Suzanne, thank you. There was a surreal quality to the sky that day from sunrise and through the morning.
JD, thank you. God has blessed me. :D

Ah yes, "Mackerel sky, mackerel sky. Never long wet and never long dry."
From your beautiful picture, it looks like you are in for some changing weather. Maybe some rain. Maybe some snow. My sympathies. I love the looks of snow, but I could never take the cold too well. For some reason I freeze down to the bone. My uncle was the same way. He couldn't even go in a swimming pool that wasn't heated. And he grew up at the beach!
Great post as usual.
Happy trails.
What a wonderful photo! Though you talk mostly about the sky here, I liked the trees no less... there is something compelling in naked trees... mystic and quiet...
Swubird, we do have cold weather headed our way but today is sunny and Jeff and I could have camped had we the time. :D I'm glad you enjoyed the photo. You need a woodstove for the winter weather. That way you stay toasty warm and that keeps the winter inviting. I miss the woodstove in the spring. But I am sure you'll hear me complain about the long winter in a few months. LOL
Greg, the naked trees do make a statement. It is unbelievably quiet outside. Thanks for pointing that out.
Thank you!!!
Hugs. JJ
Beautiful capture JJ.
Yes, autumn is coming to a quick finish, there is so much greyness now where just a short while ago, there was beautiful color.
Evita, this is a sad time of the year but I look forward to some great sunrises and sunsets during the winter. :D
Thank you!!!
Hugs, JJ
