Huddled Ice

It's been so cold in Michigan that even the Lake Huron ice has huddled together. LOL Couldn't resist the joke. We had whipping winds up to 70 mph last night and now frantic snowflakes are flying through the air this morn. The countdown to spring is nine days. I hope nature decides to smile soon. So far the roaring beast is winning.

The saving grace to this harsh weather is that I am hoping to find some good wave action on Lake Huron. Jeff and I are bundling up and heading there soon. If I'm lucky I can snap photos from the car and not face the brunt of the storm.

That reminds me of when my sixth grade teacher Mr. Eilers used to tell me to eat my Wheaties or I would "blow away in the wind". I was a small tyke back then. Used to walk to school in this weather and have red legs because we could only wear dresses or skirts. No slacks allowed. Brrr. And my woolen coat ended at the knee. That sure wasn't protection from the deep snow banks I found along the way. :D

In other news, I have something EXCITING to tell you as soon as I can. And I have a new Bible passage post and photo on my new inspirational blog if you care to read it.

Hugs, JJ

Hi Nancy - I'm back! I couldn't leave a comment on your other blog. Sometimes I think blogger messes up with the embedded comment function - I'll try again later!

Shellmo, thank you. I woke up this morning and said, oh, no! to the frigid temp. LOL Brrrrrrrrr. The sun is lasting longer before the sunset. But the earth doesn't know it yet.

I had trouble posting on blogs yesterday too. I hope that blogger is fixed now. Thanks for trying again later!!!

Nature Lovin' thank you, dear. :D There have been times when winter has looked surreal. I'm glad I could capture it with my digital. :D

I do hope spring comes our way soon!!!

Wearing skirts all winter long? I feel cold just from imagining it! In here it's not that cold anymore, I even wear my spring coat now... even though it's not quite springlike outside just yet.

I've lived in Chicago but never saw ice huddled up in this manner as you so aptly described it. This time natures displays are unusual!
Have a nice weekend JJ and take care.

I can't wait for the exciting news, or do I already know it?
I hope it gets warmer over there soon. Even in Las Vegas it was bitterly cold but with pure blue skies.

Bitter Chocolate, YAY!!! for the spring coat. Our winter is hanging on but it will HAVE to change over to spring SOON. :D

Sadia, that was a scene on Lake Huron. The waves were very creative this winter. :D You have a great weekend too!!! Thank you.

Bunka, aw, thanks. :D I'm glad you are enjoying my nature photos. I loooove Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. :D

Suzanne, you had cold weather in Las Vegas! This winter has been a BEAR. I'm glad you safely home.

I have emailed you. :D

It makes me freeze just reading about it and seeing all of your fabulous pictures. It reminds me of when I was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Station. Very cold place, especially with the wind blowing off of the lake.juxuct

wu, you were at the Great Lakes Naval Station. Cool! I mean it in the other way. :D

The windchill does go right through a person when living close to the Great Lakes in the winter. I am already envisioning the warmer weather and the photos I want to snap.

Thanks, I'm happy you enjoyed the ice sculpture photo.
