Ah! Sugar Maple Blossoms

Ah! spring maple blossoms. How I have longed for the sight of you, watching your buds swell each day until the bright orange and red flowers burst open in a joyous display, bringing life to the skeleton hardwood forest. Life that makes the sunshine sing and lights the world around me. We also have red maple blossoms which look like rubies and I can't stop smiling when I see them.

The lilac leaves have sprouted out in miniature too and the white wild cherry blossoms are about to burst. I spent time this morning walking along the tannin creek and enjoying the greening grass that brightens the banks and snapping some tree reflection photos.

It's time for renewal. A sense of peace surrounds me and I am happy to greet each day with the wonder of what will show up in the landscape next, waving in the wind and saying, "Hello, it's been a while. "

I changed the header to my daffodils and am enjoying watching their rich yellow hues in the sunshine as the wind nods their beautiful heads. The full moon will make the daffodils glow in the yard at night and I love that eerie, haunting atmosphere too. A floral Milky Way.

Peace be unto you this glorious week. Have a good one. :D I love you, dear readers.

Hugs, JJ

In a similar vein, I love it when the local, red maples start to bud here. The reddish-pink buds, starting to appear in February, are the first sign for us.
Pretty new header!

Robb, I am joyous that spring has sprung and am going to take advantage of every great day before the snow falls again. I want to enjoy all God has given this area while not wearing a winter coat for several months. :D

Thank you. :D

I love the new post! Reminds me of Wordsworth's lines - a host of golden daffodils. Your post is also soooo poetic.

First of all, that's a great new header. It's nice to see new things.

Second, what a wonderful post. You write so well - every word rolls off the tongue like warm butter. It's always a pleasure.

Enjoy your beautiful spring, and remember...

Happy trails

Hi! I thought I was at the wrong place when I saw your new header image. In with the new and out with the old! I think I'll miss that little bird that appeared frozen in time! PS Tell Jeff I got myself a Stihl chainsaw. What a beauty! Boys with toys, hey!

Take Care,
Peter

Swubird, aw, thank you. :D Spring touches my heart. :D

Spilt Ink, It's great meeting kindred spirits. :D Thank you!!!

Shellmo, thanks, hon. I had a friend visit today with her hubby. We had a great time. I must hop over to your blog to see what the birds are up to. You have turned the fowl into lively characters that I adore. :D

Peter, the bird has thawed out. :D I'm glad you noticed the new header. :D

Jeff said, woot! for the Stihl chainsaw purchase. He said it will last for many, many years. Jeff's chainsaw is twenty-two years old and starts on the fourth pull, every time.

Hi JJ, I absolutely love the header, and your sugar maple blossomes are so inviting. Thanks for sharing. Finally spiring arrived here too, still cold sometimes, but I got my lilacs going on the side of the house, so it is a good sign. Anna :)
