Yesterday morning I was walking along the creek to survey the beaver progress in gnawing down our trees when I glimpsed a whole other world on the tannin water's surface. It was so clear and mesmerizing that I stared for a while and then snapped some shots.
Isn't it AMAZING how a tannin creek can reflect back a blue sky and forest greenery to where it looks so clear! It was as though I could slip into the water and make my way to the riverbank in another dimension. Nature walks always renew my spirit and I delight in what the dear Lord has given us to enjoy.
I must make a mental note to use this in a book one day as the start to a scene.
On the homefront, my book is released tomorrow so it's a big day for me. I will treasure every moment. Here is my professional blog link if you want to read about the gift book where I provided nature photos.
Have a super week!
Hugs, JJ

You certainly have a beautiful place for your long walks. I'm envious.
I have seen those crystal clear reflections in creeks and bodies of standing water. One time when my Queen and I drove to the Santa Monica pier we saw something similar. We pulled into the parking lot just a few minutes before sunset, and immediately saw that a fire hydrant had broken and deposited a smooth one-inch-deep layer of water over the entire lot. The pier and all of the businesses were exqisitely reflected in the glass-like water. I had just bought an old Rico camera, so I sat it on the roof of the car and held the shutter open for about twenty seconds. The result is that we have a fantastic reflection of the late afternoon pier that mirrors the actual pier. It is beautiful.
Happy trails.
Are you telling me that photo is a reflection in the water? If so, wow! I know what you mean about other dimensions. Reflections create an alternative reality and the imagination soars.
jj ~ I love the shot... especially that BLUE BLUE sky! ~ jb///

Swu, you have amazing adventures!!! Looove your beautiful imagery. :D
Suzanne, yes, that is a creek reflection except the blades of grass on the bottom are the creek bank.
LZ, don't we live in heaven with the beauty that surrounds us on this planet!!! Thank you.
Nature Lovin', aw, thank you, dear. :D I am moving around faster but still am taking it easy. Feel much better though. God is everywhere. :D

Big smile for you from Ohio! Congrats on the book (thinking I'll order it for my brother-in-law). What a terrific way to use your considerable talents!
Remarkable photo...

Nice post Nancy, Congrats for your first released book. I just read in your professional blog. You know your photography is really God gifted.
Beautiful images JJ, and isn't it exciting about your book release, so cool, I want to buy one.
Hey JJ I am very happy for you about your book, it is excellent mile stone, and your images are always beautiful and inspiring along with your words. Anna :)
When I was a kid I took part in scouting; it was a wounderful time. Your pictures have reminded me of those days and the people that shared their time to give us that experience. There will be a day when someone will have reflection because of your time given to them.
Blessings,
Matt.
Angel, thank you, dear, and you are sooooo right. God has blessed me with my photography. He has gifts for us all. It's fun exploring them. :D
Bob, thank you. That would be super if you bought the book!!! I am hoping my friends will see how the photos were used as illustrations along with the text. It's really quite beautiful the way the designer married the photos and text together.
Anna, this has been a fantastic journey of the heart and soul and an inspiration to spend time with God's creation. :D The beauty astounds me!!! You and I are blessed with taking such close looks at the magnificent landscape around us.:D
Matt, thank you. :D That is my goal. I want others to reflect on what they have experienced when they view my photos. :D
I was in the Girl Scouts and enjoyed that time ...it was a time of awareness. Woot that you were in scouting.
Have a super day!!!
Hugs, JJ
