Seagull Cheese Puff Chasing

Jeff and I are back from a glorious camping trip to the Porcupine Mountains. We had a great time and have come back relaxed and raring to start another week. Here you see seagulls chasing a cheese puff at a roadside park. Jeff threw the orange puff high while I snapped away. We watched the lovely motion of wing ballet as the birds flew toward the prize. Very beautiful. And the birds had no accidents we would have had to dodge while they flew close over our heads. LOL That was a concern. But it was worth the risk to see the fluid wing motion and graceful moves of the birds.

We have had a great start to our summer vacationing. I'll post more trip photos so you can see the beauty we drank in when visiting the Porkies. :D I must say, the weather was too cold to sleep in a tent but we managed anyway. Had an electric blanket. Will return to the Porcupine Mountains for a couple of days when the weather warms more at night. We want to spend more time at the scenic lookouts and and lounge around the waterfalls. I hope you enjoy the photos to come. :D

Have a super week, dear friends.

Hugs, JJ

JJ these are amazing shots. You know it is also amazing what seagulls can do. So do Porcupine Mountains have Porcupines? Anna :)

What a lovely juxtaposition of shapes in the photo. I'm glad you've had some time to chill out and be in your favorite place - with nature.

I believe that anyplace referred to as the Porkies has got to be fun.

Reading your posts truly takes me back in time. My uncle Bob was a big hunter and fisherman and I remember all of those wonderful trips to the wilderness. We went to the high pines country of California, then to the beautiful lakes and hidden streams. I wasn't much of a hunter myself, but I sure enjoyed hiking around the back country. There's no feeling like sleeping out in the open.

Happy trails.

Nature Lovin', thank you!!! We had an AWESOME time in the Porkies and hope to return there soon. :D

Anna, yup, they have porcupines. :D And one happy skunk that frolicked amongst the campsites. Jeff and I were going to report it as an animal sighting. :D Thank you, dear.

Fruitu, the Lord wants us to enjoy his Creation and I loooove my moments in nature. :D Thank you, hon.

Suzanne, I chilled out at night alright. :D LOL I know how happy you are for me. Thanks for enjoying the seagull photo. Their movements are beautiful to watch.

Swu, you describe such AWESOME moments. Can't wait for that novel!!! Thank you, dear friend.

Kia ora JJ,
Love the Porcupines! I have to ask, how did you sleep in a tent with an electric blanket? They must be making some amazing tents in the states these days! Happy tramping my friend.

Robb, we just plugged into the electric box at the campsite. Used the modern part of the campgrounds. The rustic side doesn't offer electric or showers.

Thank you. :A Am heading over to your blog. Have some catching up to do.

I do envy you your camping trip! Must have been really lovely out there amongst nature. I used to go camping too when I was in the US , but mainly in California. Here in Malaysia we have no camp grounds and it would not be safe to camp in the forest/ jungle. The photo of the gulls is really superb!

ps thanks for your lovely comment in my blog JJ! You are really a special person.

Such vivid sharp photos! Very nice. I'm going to have to Google "the Porkies".

I'd camp again if they'd let me plug in my microwave. Sounds like there's hope!

Kat, camping does rock in the summer when the bugs are down. They haven't been too bad this year.

I'm glad you enjoyed the seagull photo. :D

You're welcome, dear.

Heather, there is plenty of hope for camping if you stay at a modern campgrounds. You sure can turn on that microwave. :D

Thanks, hon.

Shellmo, I hope you can go camping soon. Thank you, hon. Aren't seagulls great photographic subjects!!!

I had a picnic yesterday and had seagulls trying to steal food out of my hand before i could eat it, very frustrating most of the time, but today i guess I can laugh at it.

Bob, thank you. I sooooo want to return to the Porcupine Mountains this summer. :D

Sir John, throwing your food in the air can be great fun when seagulls all vie for it. What fun we had but we were watching our heads. LOL No kerplops happened.
