Fred, I will keep you up to date on Jeff's kayak project. Can't WAIT until I have captured him with my digital in the craft, paddling along the shoreline of Lake Huron.

I have suggested that he pull me along on a pool lounge but I don't think he's taken to that idea yet. He will. :D

I am in awe of the kayak builer! I knew both you and Jeff were talented , but wow!!!!

JJ, as you know I was once a commercial photographer and I am so very impressed by what you do, especially with a digital camera. Maybe one day my pix will be as good as yours.

Please keep updates here about the kayak. it is indeed a project that is inspiring in many ways.

Merging Point, thank you. The connection one makes with nature does fill the soul with contentment. It has helped me talk with God at a more personal level. Jesus said, "Peace be unto you." I know what that means. I have a quiet soul.

Swubird, isn't it great watching a bird nest come alive with baby birds!!! Phoebes always nest on the protruding higher logs of the workshop and Jeff keeps an eye of the baby birds from there.

Maverick, I have slow dial up that keeps me from seeing videos but let me try again.

Beautiful post and picture. It must be nice to see all of the seasons. I've always lived on the coast, so we basically see on season - summer. The Queen likes to watch the birds, and she is quite an expert. As I told Anna, from our up stair's bathroom she can see the birds making their nests in the eave below the lower edge of the roof. She follows the progress of the newly hatched until they fly away.

Very nice! We're spoiled down here in the south, of course--all of our trees are in leaf & all of the azalea bushes bloomed last month. The leafless trees in your photo still make me feel too cold! You're getting there, though. :)

Soon we'll hear tons of baby crows begging for food. I like crows because they guard the territory around them. I don't have to worry so much about the cats being swooped up.

Bluejays watch the forest too and will call out if a critter takes a step.
